FAQs
Do you only do one style?
Although I do have my signature aesthetic, I am more than happy to work with my client’s own style to make the design personal to them.

How much does a bathroom renovation cost?
This is probably one of the questions I get asked the most, and it’s also one of the hardest to answer…
A bathroom renovation can vary drastically in price depending on your selected finishes and fittings and which trades you require, and also whether you are doing a full-scale renovation or just some light cosmetic changes. If I had to put a number on it, I would usually say you could expect to spend anywhere from between 30k to 55k for a mid-price-point, average-sized, complete bathroom renovation. For any cosmetic changes and updates, anywhere from 20k or less depending on how drastic those cosmetic changes are. Usually, there is a solution to suit any budget!
Roughly 70% of your budget will go towards trades for the average bathroom renovation. The main price variations tend to be finishes and fixtures; depending on if you are shopping at DIY home stores, luxury tap-ware and finishes stores or somewhere in between. It is important to factor in how much structural work is being proposed and if council consent will need to be factored into your budget. I would always recommend consulting with a professional to give you a realistic idea of what your bathroom renovation is going to cost with all those factors in play.
I offer a home consultation service to my prospective clients, this way I can see the space and get to the bottom of what you would like to achieve out of your bathroom space, existing or new. Get in touch today to arrange a consult for more details.
Do you only do bathroom design?
Although I specialise in bathrooms, I also offer laundry design concepts as they are often attached to a bathroom in some homes, so it makes sense to tackle them as a whole.
I also have experience in many other projects over the years! I have designed a boutique lodge in the Coromandel, a sushi store on Queen Street in Auckland CBD, several commercial office spaces and not to mention many kitchens and homes! So if you are interested in anything other than bathrooms, just get in touch via the contact page and I am happy to review any interior design project.
How much does an interior designer cost?
The answer to that question is a tough one, purely because it can vary so much! Designer’s time can either be charged per hour, or some businesses may even offer a set price rather than an hourly rate. Every design studio is going to be different, so it's essential to do your research to find out who is going to be the best fit for your project and budget expectations.
At Lucy Design, I charge an hourly rate for my bathroom design packages. As part of my Home Consultation, detailed on the Pricing page, you will receive a quote detailing the estimated amount of time your project will take. I usually find the average design package comes to around $2400 + GST in total.
